The second term begins just after presenting our final projects for the first one.  Three new subjects: Advanced Visual Design, Virtual Environments Production and Immersive Art.
Advanced Visual Design is led by Sabio, The Glad Scientist, and his classes are very dynamic and creative.  He leads his topic with a focus on the tool TouchDesigner.  It is an incredibly flexible tool to program creative artwork.  And even though I can follow and understand everything, I struggle to create new things on my own.  I guess I will have to continue following tutorials for a while.
We were introduced to Concept Development Strategies (CDs) and were asked to bring two concepts based on the methodologies we saw in class. This was a turning point for me (see next blog…)
The second class is Virtual Environments Production.  Led by Xavi, we are introduced to Unreal Engine and its capabilities to manage surreal virtual environments.  I love the class, although I know I’m not at the same level as everybody else.  I have never played video games…  like in my life…
Unreal Engine was created to develop video games but is a flexible tool that can be used to create a very real virtual environment applicable to architecture and design.  I definitely want to explore more!!
The third class is called Immersive Art.  Led by Soren and Tatiana.  We’re shown incredible pieces or digital work intended to be shown in an immersive room.  S we begin exploring how to show stuff in the school’s immersive room.  What a great experience.
